Rural homesteading, in a Caucasian village.

BELYAEV HOUSE was founded by two expats, Timur (Russian) and Alex (American), who serendipitously met while solo traveling through Kakheti. Their farmhouse sits at the culturally rich crossroads of the Georgian, Azerbaijani and Russian border. BH emerged from their shared dream of a much slower pace of living, farther away from society in both of their native countries.

Nestled at the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, this “house of the sun and moon” tells the story of a love that transcended cultural and geopolitical borders, and has now planted its roots. Every brick, wooden beam, stone, and corner reflects the warmth of their journey together, renovating an abandoned home of 15+ years together, over the past 6 months.

Curious what makes all of their hard work worth it? This website is not just a portal for volunteers to come stay and experience such life themselves; it's a digital chronicle of their journey.

Embrace the crackling warmth of our wood-burning stove, the charm of the newly built outhouse, snow capped mountain view while sipping traditional Chinese tea, and the serenity of an outdoor bathtub situated underneath our grape vines. We invite you to be a part of our story, to share in the magic of humbleness by experiencing a slower way of living ❤️ 🍇 Volunteer on our farm this spring via Workaway here.
